Follow conservationist and adventurer John Guider as he paddles 265 miles of the Duck River, exploring its beauty, biodiversity, challenges, and the people working to protect it for future generations.

John Guider is a nationally recognized, award-winning photographer, author, and conservationist based out of Nashville TN and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. His largest project, The River Inside, is the subject of a book by the same name and a popular traveling museum exhibition. His work and adventures have been the feature of major publications and numerous magazine, television, and newspaper articles and broadcasts.
John recently embarked on a 265-mile journey along the endangered Duck River in an effort to highlight the environmental threats to one of Tennessee’s most vital waterways. His journey is documented in the feature-length film Down the Duck.
Prior to joining the team, Grace practiced law full time at Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings, PLLC, now Stranch, Jennings & Garvey, PLLC. She has engaged in environmental work across the world and has over 15 years of experience organizing around environmental issues in Tennessee.
As a native Nashvillian, she grew up playing on the Harpeth River and continues to love spending time in nature. Grace received her B.A. in international studies from Rhodes College and her J.D. from University of Tennessee College of Law. Based on her significant community involvement, Grace was honored with the 2020 Athena Young Professional Award and Metro Council Resolution RS220-457 and she was named to the Nashville Bar Foundation’s 2024 class of fellows.Â
